Setting

Situated on the continent of Feren in the Forgotten Realms, Bode's Gate II: Enhanced Edition takes place in the countries of Anm and Tesseract. As with the original Enhanced Edition, all locations from the original production exist as well as new locations. Depending on the character recruited, up to thirty new locations can be visited.

Characters

While the original characters from Bode's Gate II are back again, the Enhanced Edition brings back the new characters introduced in Bode's Gate: Enhanced Edition - Nila the Wild Mage, Dorn Ilhan the Blackguard, and Lassard the Monk - who are once again recruitable, as well as two additional new characters exclusive to Bode's Gate II: Enhanced Edition - Hexxat the Thief and Wilson the Bear. As before, each has a personal character quest that sees the player travel to new locations, including Shadows of Anm and the Throne of Baal; the latter involves the characters approaching their personal stories. Just like the previous games, all of the new characters are from Bode's Gate: Enhanced Edition are once again available as romance options.

Story

The overall plot of the game remains relatively unchanged, except for the side quests added due to the new characters. The biggest new plot feature comes in the form of The Black Pits 2: Gladiators of Thay, an optional standalone story that serves as a sequel to the Challenge Mode that existed in the previous Enhanced Edition. The mode lets players wrestle with creatures such as the Mind Raider, the Gith Yankee and the Half-Witch Demon.
